https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iT3au8o-1WnHDSRCJ7SiuhGM6tgD8_ox57hVpcT5_M4/edit How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? The final product uses conventions by representing similar factors that make up the R&B genre. This is because in my product, it used similar camera angles and shots as the ones used in “Best Part” , another R&B song. This was shown through the pan shot, wide shot, tracking shot, zoom, and more that were used. We also used a split screen for the editing that was also used in this R&B song. This is seen in other music videos to help convey the story. In my final product, cams like these helped to represent and show different meanings in each scene. Commonly used in other videos are costumes, which were used in my final product. These costumes were used to help explain the storyline and help connect the song to what the music video is representing. When researching different music video...

Hi Media Studies Crew! Welcome back to another blog, I hope everything is well. Today will be the last blog about the process of creating this music video. In todays blog, I will also talk about editing, like I did in the last one. During the process of the editing, after putting all the clips together, I wanted to focus on the transitions and final touches.  Adding transitions to my music video will overall make the flow of the music video better and look more professional. This doesn't mean that I have to add any crazy types of edits or transitions to my video. Although, this does mean there are some more simple transitions available to make each scene go from one to another smoothly. After playing around with some of the editing and transitions, I got the music video to a place where I enjoyed the flow of it. For some of the scenes I added fades in or out to make it flow into the next one. This made the overall mood of the video more calm and help to portray the story of a...

Putting Together Ivy! The Music Video

How is my Media Study Bloggers doing? I hope everything is well, but in todays blog I will be talking about the process of starting the editing of my music video. For my group, I am the assigned editor, since I know the most about editing. Since I will be editing, this will be a learning process for team including Michelle and Rose. We started editing today and are hopeful to finish the near future.  My group and I first selected the best clips out of our numerous tries. This is because for each scene we had multiple tries, so we tried to select our favorite ones that would look the best for a music video. After selecting the clips, I imported them on CapCut. I chose CapCut because I a most familiar with it as I have used it before including on my commercial about myself. Because of my familiarity with it, the process of showing and explaining to my group was easier. I then imported my audio into CapCut, but first showed my group members. I did this by first screen recording ...

Part 2: Process of our Production

Hi Media Study Crew, thanks for coming back to another blog! Today I will talk about the finishing steps of my group and I filming our final scenes! Yesterday was the final day, so my group and I completed out scenes. I went back the beach and completed the scenes that we left out on. First, with my group we went back to the area we left on, and started to film again. This time it was easier for my group and I to film and plan because we have got used to the process of filming.  The idea that we had for our seventh scene got switched slightly, and my group and I ended up filming Michelle and I lip singing on different sides of the wall. This was done by us lip-singing on different sides of a pole and my group member Rose going in a 360 motion around us to film. This took us a few tries, but eventually up getting it the point where we loved the way it turned out. For the next scene, my group and I filmed a scene in the car displaying a bumpy road. This contributed towards show...

Process of Producing: Its official!

Image
How are you guys doing, my Media Study Crew! Today my group mates and I began the filming process of our music video. Today we filmed the first six scenes in our music video. The reason why we didn't film all of them today is because we did not want to rush the process. We want to truly get every scene as to close to perfect as we can, therefore rushing it would not be the best option. For our first six scenes it wasn't a short process but being able to see it start to come together was rewarding.  For the first scene, we were trying to recreate a deja vu moment within one of our group members, Michelle. This took us a few tries as it was our first scene we filmed, so we had to get used to filming in public spaces. After a few tries we got down the purpose we were trying to convey in that scene. By the time of the second scene, public filming came easy to us. We realized that no one was caring of paying attention to us filming in public, so there is nothing to be embarrassed ...

Music Video : Additional Thinking!

Hi Media Study Crew! Welcome back to another blog where I will continue to talk about the process of my music video. To continue in the process of planning, my group and I discussed when we will be filming this video. Since in school we have a day where we get out early next week, we decided to do it on that day. We are going to go over to the beach after school and start this exciting journey of the music video. Me an my group continued to finalize and go over the plan of our musing video. We began to do this by thoroughly going through each scene. After getting to each scene we made sure that our ideas were okay a planned out well. We did this to assure an easy learning process when filming out video. Therefore, when getting to the beach to film the process will be quick and fun! We began to start planning further steps of this video as well. The topics that we discussed were things like the editing and when we want to have our project finalized by. For the editing software we plan o...
