Production Blog: Collecting Props!

Hey Media Studies Crew, welcome back! Today, my crew and I tackled another crucial step in our filming process: collecting props. This film requires quite a few props and costumes to set the right tone. We needed outfits with a casual vibe and various essential props. We kicked things off by meeting up at the thrift store near our school, 'Out of the Closet'. There, I snagged a cheap yet suitable outfit that epitomized a typical teenager, along with some makeup tools to add realism to the "dead" look we're aiming for. We tried our best to split the costs evenly among us. After that, we quickly headed to my house to start practicing with our new props. On the way home, we spotted another store, 'Goodwill', so we made a brief stop to check out anything else of interest. However, we didn't find anything else worthwhile, so we continued home. Once there, I made sure everything was in order before running through my scenes a few times. I rehearsed them thoroughly before recording. Once I got into the groove, Michelle filmed me performing several of the short film's scenes, which, in my opinion, turned out quite nicely. Unfortunately, the phone died again in the middle of my scenes, but we were prepared this time and quickly switched to another phone to keep going. And with that, we wrapped up for the day. Overall, it was a productive day for me and my group. Thanks for tuning in, see you next time Media Studies Crew!
